FREE TODDLER FUN AT THE COMMUNITY LIBRARY
On Thursdays we run two sessions of Sing Song Time, 10 – 10:30am and 10:45 to 11:15am. Sing Song Time is a first library activity for under threes and their carers. The aim is for the children to join in the singing, as well as have fun. We sing familiar songs every week and the children are encouraged to join in both the music and movement, gradually building up their confidence.(Restarting on the 4th August)
On Tuesday we run Story / Song Time from 10:15 to 10:45am. We welcome toddlers and their carers into a warm, friendly group. We provide rhythm and rhyme making activities alongside both new and familiar songs, and an introduction into the world of exciting and boundless stories beyond home provision.
Come and join us for some fun with your little ones! (We hope this will restart in September)
THE LIBRARY BOOKCLUB ON ZOOM
The book club meets on the first Friday of the month at 3pm. Its members have chosen a selection of books from the Booker Prize shortlists.
The next meeting is on 2nd September and will be discussing “Klara and the Sun” by Kasuo Ishiguro.
Eventually the club hopes to get back to meeting in the Library but in the meantime Zoom works extremely well.
Please email Ruth or Tina at mail@gardensuburblibrary.org.uk if you are interested and they will send you the Zoom links.
GARDEN SUBURB POLICE
Garden Suburb Police Safer Neighbourhood Team will be having the following drop in surgeries at our Library in 2022.
Friday 12th Aug 3.30-4.30pm
This is an opportunity for you to tell them of your community and security concerns, quality of life issues and influence local policing. They provide Crime Prevention and personal safety advice, how to register your mobile phone, mark and identify your property.
